New York, NY, March 3, 2003 -- Alan W. Clark, founding partner of The Law Firm of Alan W. Clark & Associates, LLC in Levittown, NY, has been elected a Trustee of New York Law School.  

Clark, who is board certified in medical negligence by the American Board of Professional Liability, focuses his practice in the areas of medical and professional negligence and products liability.  He has built a successful firm through specialization in personal injury and criminal defense.

"He is an experienced practitioner with 25 years in the field and a strong commitment to the highest standards of our profession while achieving favorable outcomes for his clients. Combined with his love for the law school, he will be a terrific new Board colleague."

Clark's firm has successfully litigated numerous cases in New York State and Federal courts, including a $2.5 million medical malpractice verdict for a mentally disabled person; a $2.1 million personal injury verdict for a construction accident involving a 74-year-old man; and a $2.1 million medical malpractice verdict involving cataract surgery with lens replacement.

Clark earned his undergraduate degree at the University of Miami in 1973 and his law degree at New York Law School in 1977.  He started his law career as an associate with the New York City firm of Julien & Schlesinger and two years later opened his own practice in New York City as the Law Offices of Alan W. Clark. In 1982, he joined Blume, Easton & Clark as a partner at the firm's Mineola, NY, office and then was a partner at Easton & Clark in Levittown, NY, from 1989 to 2000 before returning to his own firm in May 2000.

Clark has served on the board of directors of the New York State Trial Lawyers Association since 1995 and as the president of its Long Island affiliate from 1996 to 2000. He is a member of the Association of Trial Lawyers of America, the American Board of Professional Liability Attorneys, the Nassau County Bar Association, and the Suffolk County Bar Association.

Clark and his wife Madeleine have two children and reside in Melville, NY. His son Brandon is a student at New York Law School. In his free time, Clark enjoys golf, and jazz, pop, and instrumental music, playing both the saxophone and clarinet.
