New York Law School's Office for Public Interest and Community Service was created to further and heighten New York Law School's demonstrated historic commitment to the public interest and to serve the community, as part of the School's role as a good institutional citizen actively participating in civic life. The purpose of this office is to focus the Law School's work in this area, both in the legal arena and elsewhere, to coordinate and optimize the use of institutional resources, including the efforts of students, staff, faculty, and alumnae/i. The goal is to contribute to the public good through linking with and providing support for existing programs and for new programs to be created through the operations of the office, including those developed in collaboration with other organizations.
