Each year, the Law Review publishes four issues. The Law Review is currently developing issues for possible publication in the 2008-2009 and 2009-2010 academic years. Below are brief synopses of issues in development.
The 30th International Congress on Law and Mental Health (Volume 53, Issue 1)
This issue will feature scholarship from the participants in the 30th International Congress on Law and Mental Health, which was held in Padua, Italy in the summer of 2007. Topics include mental health advocacy, smoke-free psychiatric facilities, sexual abuse, and outpatient commitment.
The Community Reinvestment Act: Still Relevant at 30? (Volume 53, Issue 2)
This symposium issue will examine the efficacy of the Community Reinvestment Act in helping to promote economic justice. Articles take a look back at the history of the CRA and its impact on new problems in predatory lending - with a special emphasis on the collapse of the subprime mortgage market.
Corporation Counsel: A History of the New York City Law Department (Volume 53, Issue 3)
This issue will feature papers and adapted remarks from the panelists at the “History of New York Department” symposium held at New York Law School in February, 2008, including former Mayor Edward Koch, as well as eight living former Corporation Counsels.
Redeveloping Brownfields in New York: Where Do We Go From Here?. (Volume 53, Issue 4)
This symposium issue will feature a wide range of papers on brownfields developed from a symposium held on January 11, 2008, Redeveloping Brownfields in New York: Where Do We Go From Here?. Topics include recent guidance and application procedures for the New York State Brownfield Cleanup Program, legislative proposals for amending Brownfield Cleanup Program tax credits, and alternative mechanisms for remediating sites that are not eligible for the Brownfield Cleanup Program.
