Susan Scafidi

In addition to her position at Fordham University School of Law, Scafidi is also a tenured member of the law and history faculties at Southern Methodist University and the author of Who Owns Culture? Appropriation and Authenticity in American Law (2005). Scafidi is also the author of the much-applauded fashion and intellectual property weblog Counterfeit Chic.
Scafidi's teaching and research fields include property, intellectual property, cultural property, international law, trusts & estates, and legal history. Following graduation from Duke University and the Yale Law School, Professor Scafidi served as law clerk to the Honorable Morris S. Arnold of the U.S. Court of Appeals, 8th Circuit. She also pursued graduate study in legal history at the University of California at Berkeley and the University of Chicago. Professor Scafidi has taught at the University of Chicago, Saint Louis University School of Law, the Yale Law School, and most recently at the Georgetown University Law Center.
